Communist Daughter set their hymnal-honed harmonies and fragile guitar-work to wistful images of rural Minnesota and barn-loft jams in this new video for their superlative track, “Speed of Sound.” The track is the first to be released from their upcoming EP, Lions & Lambs. Jonny Soloman comments on the making of the video, saying “we shot this video in Minnesota outside of the Twin Cities in small towns and farms, part of it we walked around a state park. Just kind of spent days wandering trying to capture the feeling of being out here. We feel so far away from the coasts. Its the Midwest, its beautiful but its got a loneliness to it. We just wanted to capture that.”
“Lions & Lambs” is hitting stores July 10th. A collection of deeply personal songs about addiction, regret and redemption, this release hopes to introduce the world to a clear eyed Johnny Solomon. Layers of instruments swirl around layers of lyrics that go deeply personal pulling listeners to their own memories of heart ache and heart break.
