Divine Fits - My Love Is Real

Everyone loves a good supergroup. Ladies and gentlemen, let us introduce you to Divine Fits, the new band comprised of Britt Daniel (Spoon), Dan Boeckner (Wolf Parade), and Sam Brown (New Bomb Turks). They will release their debut album, A Thing Called Divine Fits, on August 28th via Merge. The band released this statement about the debut album on their website,

A Thing Called Divine Fits was made with much excitement and energy from March through May (minus a few weeks off for research) in a backyard studio in Los Angeles. What else can we tell you. . .we co-produced it with Nick Launay. It’s about 42-and-a-half minutes long. Alex Fischel plays keyboards like a madman all over it. (Roughly) half the tracks are lead-sung by Dan and half by Britt. Over the course of its 11 songs it covers such topics as the death of true love, hitchhiking, cocoa butter, emotional distance, what happens when the curtain drops, and Minneapolis, MN. We think it’s truly pretty great.”

The album’s first single is a track called “My Love Is Real.” It’s a song that captures the elements we love from the bands these members represent. Dan sings on this track, and it definitely gives off a Wolf Parade meets synth-pop vibe. The single will be released on July 31st and will feature the non-LP B-side cover of Camper Van Beethoven’s “I Was Born In A Laundromat.” Stream “My Love Is Real” below.
