Telekinesis is probably the most underrated artist on Merge Records. The music of 26-year-old Michael Benjamin Lerner is extremely accessible and rewarding to almost any listener; it’s amazing that Telekinesis isn’t a household name by now. Both 2009′s self-titled debut and 2011′s 12 Desperate Straight Lines were stellar albums. They reminded us of the vibes Weezer used to send out when they were still making quality music.
On April 2nd, Telekinesis will release its third album, Dormarion, recorded with Spoon drummer Jim Eno at Austin’s Public Hi-Fi studio. It’s the work of two drummers, but based on the results of the first single, “Ghosts and Creatures,” don’t expect a percussion-heavy affair. Listen to the track below and then download 12 Desperate Straight Lines; you can thank us later.
